BEATLES FOR SALE
Like most young girls 11-year-old Susan Stanford had a craze on the Beatles so her mother, Patricia Stanford, painted an oil portrait of the four pop idols to hang in her daughter’s bedroom.
But, also like most young girls, Susan’s craze soon wore off, and her mother is now left with the large portrait.
GOOD BUY
Mrs. Stanford is a portrait painter by profession and lives in Frenmil-road, Hornchurch, with her husband and two daughters. Her latest portrait is of the Prime Minister, Mr. Harold Wilson.
She now wants to sell the painting of the Beatles and is hoping for an offer of 15 guineas. “I appreciate the buyer will probably be a schoolgirl teenager, but for anybody who likes the Beatles it is a good buy. It would make a lovely gift for someone”, said Mrs. Stanford.
Who is Susan’s new heart throb? “Cliff Richard”, she grinned. “Since the Beatles have been making films, their fans see less and less of them so Cliff is now my favourite star”, she said.
Anybody wishing to purchase the painting can contact Mrs. Stanford at Hornchurch 49778.
