I Beatles avevano reso iconico lo stivaletto con tacco cubano: il modello originario era stato realizzato su misura da Anello & Davide, celebre calzolaio londinese, nel 1961.
Nel 1963–64, con il boom della Beatlemania, nacquero decine di imitazioni e produzioni “under licence” o pseudo-licenze che usavano i nomi dei membri del gruppo per attirare i fan.
