É il disco che segna il debutto dei Fab Four nel mercato degli LP del Regno Unito e del resto d'Europa. 

Negli USA è pubblicato con il titolo "Introducing... The Beatles" nel 1964 con una sequenza di brani modificata.

La versione di "Love Me Do" presente nell'LP vede come batterista Andy White, poichè il produttore dei Beatles, George Martin, non aveva ancora piena fiducia in Ringo Starr. La prima versione del 45 giri britannico invece ha come batterista Ringo Starr e sarà poi la versione con quest'ultimo alla batteria che verrà inclusa nei successivi CD antologici.
