Beatles Style – Filtral Sonnenbrillen ADV & SUNGLASSES
Ein Hit für den Beatfan. Rassig, jung, faszinierend! Eine Creation aus dem Hause Filtral Sonnenbrillen. (A hit for every Beatles fan. Smart, youthful, fascinating! A creation by Filtral Sunglasses.)
Advertisement printed on the reverse of selected EMI/Odeon Beatles records (primarily "Michelle / Girl").
It formed part of an integrated promotional campaign jointly developed by:
- Filtral GmbH, a German manufacturer of sunglasses; and
- EMI Electrola / Odeon, the German subsidiary of the Beatles' record label.
The sunglasses (available in white or black) were sold through optical shops and so-called "youth stores", which also stocked records, music magazines, and pop memorabilia.
The "Beatles Style" sunglasses imitated the frames worn by John Lennon and Ringo Starr (round or square, dark plastic frames).
Following the Beatles' 1966 tour of Germany, local companies increasingly capitalized on the group's image as a symbol of youth, modernity, and Beat culture.
