The Beatles – Colección de 96 cromos
Sticker pack (“sobre de chromos”)
This collection was part of the series of musical figurines dedicated to the greats of the moment (Elvis Presley, Cliff Richard, Johnny Hallyday and later The Beatles). The complete collection included 96 numbered figurines, printed on glossy paper, featuring black-and-white photographs of the Beatles in promotional and stage poses (in some cases from A Hard Day's Night).
The stickers, 3 per sachet, were to be pasted into an official album (Álbum de 96 chromos – The Beatles), distributed separately or on newsstands with the first sachets.
The double text “Impreso en España / Printed in Spain” confirms that the sachets were intended both for the domestic market and for export to Latin American countries.
The Beatles' Bruguera figurines were sold in Spain and imported to Argentina, Colombia, Mexico and Brazil. In some cases, the local price varied (e.g. 3 chromosomes for 50 centavos).
In Argentina, copies of individual stickers bear the inscription “Hecho en España”, proof of direct provenance from Catalan printing houses
One of the most direct testimonies to the arrival of Beatlemania in Franco's Spain, where Anglo-Saxon pop images were distributed with caution but great success
