Gumball Pinback Button
Metal pinback buttons with celluloid covering depicting individual members of the Beatles. Produced in the United States in 1974, during the wave of renewed interest in the group following their breakup, they feature black-and-white photographic portraits accompanied by the musicians' names printed on red or white backgrounds. Particularly noteworthy is the badge identifying Ringo Starr as "Ringo 'Rings' Starr," an unusual reinterpretation of the drummer's name that reflects the popular and often unofficial nature of much Beatles-related memorabilia produced during the 1970s.
