The Beatles - Jumbo Postcard

Curt Teich and Company di Chicago - Curt Otto Teich (1877–1974) was an American businessman of German descent who produced “popular” color postcards depicting scenes of American life. He was a pioneer of the offset printing process. After moving to Chicago, Illinois, in 1898, he founded Curt Teich & Company and became the world’s largest printer of scenic and advertising postcards. 

The company’s “Greetings From” postcards, with their bright colors, large letters, and bold styles, had become very popular, and this success allowed Teich to hire hundreds of traveling salespeople to sell illustrated postcards to the public.

The 14 cm x 9 cm “Curteichcolor” postcards were sold in sets of five. One postcard was dedicated to each member of the band, with a brief biography printed on the back; the fifth postcard featured a group photo of the Fab Four. 

Back of the postcard—space for the stamp and the inscriptions “curteichcolor® 3-D natural reproduction (Reg. U.S.A. Pat. Off.)” / “©1964 by NEMS Enterprises Ltd.” Each postcard was numbered from B-1 to B-4. 

A Jumbo Postcard featuring The Beatles (15 cm x 23 cm) was also produced.

The Teich postcards came in a box labeled “America's Finest Natural Color - Curteichcolor © Post Cards” and featuring an image of the Fab Four.
