Magical Mystery Tour - tv movie

A musical comedy filmed in 1967 for television (BBC).

Based on idea by Paul McCartney, it is the first and only movie produced entirely independently by the Beatles.

Lacking a true plot, it consists in a series of episodes featuring various characters—including the Beatles themselves—during a bus trip through southern England.

The Beatles themselves served as screenwriters, producers, and directors, as well as, of course, composers of the soundtrack.

The film premiered in London on December 17th, 1967, at the Royal Lancaster Hotel and was broadcast on television in black and white on December 26 of the same year.

The soundtrack, performed by the Beatles and included on the album of the same name, features:

Magical Mystery Tour
The Fool On The Hill
Flying
I Am The Walrus
Blue Jay Way
Your Mother Should Know
Hello Goodbye (end credits)
Also included (not on the album):

Death Cab For Cutie (written by Vivian Stanshall and performed by the Bonzo Dog Doo-Dah Band)
All My Loving (orchestral version)
She Loves You (instrumental version)
