The Ed Sullivan Show

"Ed Sullivan Show" was a US television program that aired on CBS from 1948 to 1971, considered one of the most important and widely followed shows on the network.

Originally titled "Toast of the Town," it assumed the name that made it famous throughout the country starting from September 25, 1955. Conceived and hosted by Ed Sullivan, it first aired on June 20, 1948 at 8:00 PM (with a duration of about an hour), and in 1,054 episodes, the show represented a fixed reference point and an unmissable appointment for viewers, airing for over twenty years every Sunday until June 6, 1971.

The Beatles made several appearances on the Ed Sullivan Show, three of which in 1964: on February 9, 16, and 23.

The February 9, 1964 episode was the Beatles' first appearance in front of an American audience, during which they performed "All My Loving," "Till There Was You," "She Loves You," "I Saw Her Standing There," and "I Want to Hold Your Hand," which was watched by 75 million Americans.

On February 16, the Beatles performed "She Loves You," "This Boy," "All My Loving," "I Saw Her Standing There," "From Me to You," and "I Want to Hold Your Hand." While on February 23, they performed "Twist and Shout" and "Please Please Me" as an introduction to the program, and closed the show once again with "I Want to Hold Your Hand."
