Beatles Dress, N.V. Stoomweverij Nijverheid
Women’s sleeveless dress made of printed fabric, produced by the Dutch textile company N.V. Stoomweverij Nijverheid of Enschede, one of the most important textile companies in the Netherlands during the 20th century.
The original label reads: “The Beatles – Dress Authorized Design Copyright N.V. Stoomweverij Nijverheid Enschede Holland”
The garment features a design consisting of illustrated portraits of John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison, and Ringo Starr, a stylized guitar with the Beatles logo, and reproduced signatures of the four musicians. The design is set within a geometric composition of white and beige polka dots that echoes the graphic style of European youth fashion from the mid-1960s.
