Harmonica The Beatles

Manufactured by the M. Hohner Company, located on Andrews Road, Hicksville, Long Island, New York.

It was attached to the front of a unique 18x28 cm folding postcard, which contained a 3.2x10 cm harmonica and a storage case. The front of the postcard featured an image of the band with facsimile signatures and the caption:

“Get The Beat - With Your Hohner Harmonica.”

At the bottom, it read: “Two Original Beatle Songs, Original Hohner Harmonicas, and Instructions.”

When you opened the postcard like a book, you found the sheet music for the songs “Little Child” and “Please, Please Me.”

On the back was a printed image of John Lennon playing the harmonica, next to the price of $2.98, along with illustrated instructions for playing the instrument.

The harmonica box, like much of the promotional material, contained an error: Paul and George’s names were switched under their photos. This error was later corrected, but many packages were thrown away because of the oversight.

The harmonica was manufactured in Germany, with a design inspired by the Marine Band model.

The harmonica storage box measured 12.7 cm in length and featured images of the Beatles with their names printed below—although in some cases Paul and George were mislabeled. The packaging also bore the inscription “NEMS ENT LTD”
