33 RPM Record Box - The Beatles
Two versions of the Air Flite record case were produced: one for holding 45 rpm singles and one for carrying 12" albums. Both models were available in green or red, with a white top/lid.
The cases bear the inscription: ‘©1964 made by Air Flite!’ The dimensions of the 45 rpm case were approximately 11.75 cm x 18.65 cm x 21.6 cm. The 33 rpm case measured approximately 31.75 cm x 31.75 cm x 12 cm.
The cases were made of textured paper laminated over sturdy cardboard and featured a rigid plastic handle with brass metal clasps and hinges—one clasp for the 45 rpm version, two for the LP version.
A graphic image of the band members was printed on the front of the case, along with facsimile signatures and the inscription: '©Nems Ent. Ltd.'
45s were more popular among teenagers in 1964 than albums, which is why many more sleeves were produced for that size, while LP sleeves are much rarer.
Among all NEMS Enterprises-licensed products, the Beatles LP sleeves produced by Air Flite can be considered among the rarest and most sought-after items.
