THE BEATLES VANITY CASE / OVERNIGHT CASE

A travel case produced in 1964 by Air Flite Products under official license © NEMS Enterprises Ltd., at the height of international Beatlemania.

Made of rigid cardboard covered in light blue vinyl with a white plastic handle, the front features The Beatles logo, the printed signatures of John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison, and Ringo Starr, and an official promotional photograph of the group from the early years of their career.

Marketed as a small travel suitcase or beauty case, it was intended primarily for a young audience and represents one of the most significant examples of the expansion of Beatles merchandising beyond the music industry. Items of this type were often used to store personal belongings, records, photographs, newspaper clippings, and other memorabilia related to the band.

The production of travel and leisure items helped transform the Beatles into one of the first global pop culture licensing phenomena, making their brand a part of the daily lives of millions of fans.
