The Beatles Souvenir Teacup Saucers

Front: The four Beatles in matching light blue outfits (1963 EMI/Parlophone promotional photo) with facsimile signatures reading “John, Paul, George, Ringo” and the words “The Beatles” in the center.
Back: Label or stamp reading “A Beatles Souvenir by Proudholme Products – Groveway House, Elm Grove, Brighton – Made in England.”
Some versions of the saucers feature a small circular indentation (for a cup or ashtray), while others are flat decorative saucers.

These items were sold in gift and music stores in England and Scotland between 1963 and 1964, often as “display” collectibles, not for food use.

The image of the Beatles used is based on a 1964 EMI photo shoot, which was also used for some Parlophone 45s and for the A Hard Day’s Night merchandise.

They represent one of the earliest forms of “adult” home merchandise, aimed in part at the parents of fans.
